Meet Janiyah, a young girl who once struggled with behavioral challenges and low self-esteem. Her life took a positive turn when she met Ms. Larita, a dedicated mentor at Presbyterian Children's Homes and Services. Through tough love and unwavering support, Ms. Larita helped Janiyah transform her attitude, improve her grades, and discover her self-worth. Destiny faced significant challenges from a young age, caring for her siblings while her mother battled substance abuse. After entering foster care, she found a supportive family at Itasca Foster Care Village. With the guidance of her foster parents and the advanced education director, Destiny pursued her passion for psychology, graduating with an associate's degree in December 2023. Now, she is determined to make a difference in the lives of others as she works towards her bachelor's degree.
