In the middle of 2019, PCHAS closed its residential treatment program in St. Francois County, Missouri, and opened the Farmington Service Center. Its goal was to address community needs such as under-employment, a high dropout rate and family instability. Seven evidence-based programs would strengthen families and cultivate self-sufficiency. “It’s a normal neighborhood,” says Andrew Rogers, Home Development & Intake Coordinator. “Our families are going about their daily lives, the kids get ready for school in the morning and some parents go to work.” The Foster Care Village is home to six foster families who receive constant support from PCHAS staff on the campus.
