Parenting is one of the most difficult jobs in the world and one of the loneliest when your child is struggling. If your child is facing anxiety, big emotions, school challenges, grief, or just the messy business of growing up, you don't have to figure it out alone.
I'm Katy Phillips, a Licensed Master Social Worker at The Counseling Center at PCHAS in Waxahachie, Texas. We can work together in-person at our office in Waxahachie or on-line, if that works best.
I'm a child at heart. I love working with kids and helping them navigate life's challenges through play, creativity and connection. I create a space where children feel truly seen, safe, and accepted. I can help your child develop confidence, emotional regulation, and healthy coping skills, and I can support and partner with you as a parent.
I have a special passion for working with children who have autism, neurodivergent minds, or experience sensory differences. These kids are so often misunderstood but I see their creativity, their depth, and their unique way of experiencing the world. Every child deserves to feel like they belong, and I'm committed to making sure you and your child know they are welcome, valued, and never a burden.
I specialize in working with children, teens, and families, especially single parents and families walking through life transitions like divorce, loss, trauma, or big parenting challenges. I also have a deep passion for supporting foster and adoptive families. I understand the unique joys and heartaches that come with these journeys including attachment challenges, grief, resilience, and the profound love that holds it all together.
My approach is warm, collaborative, and I am always in your corner. I don't just work with your child. I partner with your whole family to build on your strengths and create real, lasting change.
I believe that when a child grows, the entire family benefits. That's why I intentionally make space for parents in the process by welcoming them into sessions, sharing skills and information, and working together as a team.
If you're looking for someone who sees the incredible child you see and understands how much you love them, I'd be honored to walk alongside your family as you navigate life's challenges together.
