Caroline Keeven is a Licensed Professional Counselor with The Counseling Center at PCHAS in Farmington, Missouri. She grew up in Farmington, studied psychology at Webster University in Webster Groves, and earned her Master's in Clinical Mental Health from Liberty University.

But here's what makes Caroline's story especially meaningful: she didn't just land at PCHAS after graduating. She grew up here professionally, too.

Caroline first came to PCHAS in 2020 as a practicum student. From the very beginning, she immersed herself in Trust-Based Relational Intervention® — better known as TBRI®. It's an approach to caring for children who have experienced trauma, and it made an immediate impression on her.

"When I came to PCHAS as a practicum student, I took the TBRI classes and really believed in what I was learning," Caroline shares.

That belief didn't fade. It grew. After completing her degree, Caroline joined the Child and Family program at PCHAS, giving herself space to settle into her career while building other important parts of her life. She practiced under supervision and completed all the board requirements in February of this year, earning her license as a professional counselor.

The PCHAS mission – serving children and families who need support – drew Caroline in. And the longer she has been here, the more personal that mission has become. As she has grown her own family during her time at PCHAS, her passion for creating safe spaces — physically and emotionally — has only deepened.

"I strive to create this environment in my own office and through working with those that we serve," she says.

At the heart of Caroline's work is a simple but powerful belief: that families have strengths, and sometimes they just need a little help finding them. She works with children and families who are navigating real challenges, and she meets them where they are — helping them move toward stability on their own terms.

This National Counseling Awareness Month, we're grateful for counselors like Caroline who don't just show up for their clients. They are all-in — bringing training, heart, and a genuine belief in the people they serve.

If you or someone you love could benefit from counseling, The Counseling Centers at PCHAS offer in-person and virtual sessions for children, adults, couples, and groups across a wide range of needs in Missouri and Texas. We'd love to connect you with the support you deserve. Visit pchas.org/Counseling or call (833) 208-3201 to learn more or schedule an appointment.
