Watch: Take A Chance On Me

There are more than 4,000 teens in foster care in Texas right now. Every one of them needs you to see this video, because they all need a family that is willing to take a chance. Spoiler alert – you may need to grab some tissues.

Darrien, Miranda and Travis’ story is incredible and we are grateful that they were willing to share their journey. We’re also grateful for The Archibald Project and their ability to share it in such a meaningful way.

In the courtroom, you hear Miranda say, “…today we just set in stone what we’ve already known, but I do want to make you a few promises. Darrien, I promise to always relentlessly pursue your heart, even when you try to hide it. I promise to be on your side and fight for you always. I promise to continue to sit in the hard stuff and to celebrate the good with you for the rest of your life. …and lastly, of course, I promise again to never ever stop loving you just as much as I do at this very moment.”

We honor the foster and adoptive families that step toward kids needing families who vow to love them and to pursue their hearts. To be pursued, known and loved in the way that Miranda and Travis have given themselves to Darrien is beautiful. It’s life-changing.

The best part is that they aren’t helping Darrien change the plotline in his story because of their professional expertise; their love, commitment and desire to connect to his heart, fully, are the agents of change.
