Presbyterian Children’s Homes & Services (PCHAS) has promoted Josh Smith to Central Regional Director in Texas. He will direct programs that provide self-sufficiency training for single parents, assist youth aging out of foster care and strengthen families in crisis.
Previously Josh was an intern at PCHAS, then an employee for seven years. A native of Austin, he earned both a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration and a Master’s in Social Work from Baylor University. His wife is also a Baylor graduate. They and their two small boys enjoy outdoor activities and attending athletic events at the university when possible.
“I am very thankful and excited to be back with PCHAS in a full-time role and to begin serving as the Central Regional Director,” Josh says. “I look forward to collaborating with the team to continue to provide Christ-centered care and support to children and families in need.” When asked about the PCHAS philosophy of care and how he approaches his work, Josh quotes Dr. Bruce Perry: “Relationships are the agents of change and the most powerful therapy is human love.”
Josh succeeds Pam Crawford, who recently received a state award for outstanding leadership and is retiring this month. Josh will work out of the San Antonio office.
PCHAS posts full-time and part-time employment opportunities at Careers & Job Openings.
