Children all over the country are preparing to go back to school. This usually includes shopping for school supplies and getting a new backpack. But, for some children, that’s not always possible.
For the last eight years, PCHAS and a group of other local non-profits in Corsicana, TX have worked together to provide back-to-school essentials for children in need. We know that children deserve to be ready for the new school year—regardless of their family’s income. Children who receive free or reduced lunches are eligible to get one of 2,700 backpacks filled with basic school supplies.
On July 30th, the PCHAS volunteers and partners will be stuffing backpacks, which will be distributed on July 31st and August 1st from 9 a.m. – 7 p.m. Volunteers are needed for both stuffing and distribution, which will take place at the Cook Center.
