Transitional Living for
Youth in Foster Care

Missouri

Level 3 Residential Boys And Girls

Older foster youth are supported through group homes and apartment residences, life skills training, gaining employment and guidance as they prepare for independent adult living.

Before an individual can begin their healing, they must be safe and healthy. Presbyterian Children’s Homes and Services focuses on every individual's needs and possibilities of their future. We aim to give them a chance to become strong and increase their self-sufficiency. This program is not an emergency shelter and only accepts clients through an application, interview and assessment process.

Our locations are:

  • Harris House in Farmington, MO (ages 16-19, males only)
  • Ashley House and community apartments in Springfield, MO (ages 18-21)

With limited supervision, PCHAS uses a transitional living curriculum to help struggling youth grow and accomplish their goals. The program aims to provide them with an effective, results-driven bridge between living in foster care and living on their own.

Our hope is that the youth we serve will have strong social and spiritual networks as they transition into adulthood.

To this end, we offer:

  • Housing
  • Educational resources
  • Mentoring in some locations
  • One-to-one coaching in life skills
  • Case management
  • Employment counseling and job-skills training
