Coordinator of Volunteers (Part-time)

Wichita Falls

Core Responsibilities:

Meeting with the Manager of Volunteers on a regular basis to discuss prospective volunteers and the services of authorized volunteers. Attending additional meetings and conference calls as necessary for planning purposes with program staff.

Prioritizing annual program events and trainings, including the Foster Parent trainings, Super Saturdays, Connect for Hope Camp, and holiday parties in collaboration with the Manager of Volunteers. Together, recruiting volunteers, assigning them to designated roles, and organizing activities as needed for each event.

Attending the events and providing volunteer and child supervision with the Manager of Volunteers as necessary.

Assisting the Manager of Volunteers with the application process and training for interns.

Coordinating individual and group volunteer events and activities in consultation with the Manager of Volunteers and program staff.

Connecting with the community, churches and organizations to promote volunteer opportunities with the PCHAS programs in the Wichita Falls area. This may be in partnership with the local Development Officers and the Director of Church Engagement.

Maintaining updated records of volunteers with contact information and service hours for annual reporting purposes.

Being accessible by phone, email or in person for staff and volunteers.

Performing other duties as assigned.

Working Conditions:

The Coordinator of Volunteers should be knowledgeable in using a computer, phone, email and fax machine. This person should be outgoing and able to communicate verbally with individuals and large groups. Must be able to lift 40 lbs. and have a flexible schedule.

Job Requirements:

The Coordinator of Volunteers will work up to 10 hours a week. This person should have experience working as a regular volunteer or have supervision experience. This person must be able to work well with adults and children, be organized, and able to supervise others. Must be trustworthy and able to maintain confidence in all matters relating to clients and the agency.
