Youth Outreach

On "The Hill," PCHAS provides after-school support services such as counseling, life skills, tutoring and transportation services for youth who are experiencing housing instability. Some participants may be eligible to receive housing.

Federal data indicate that the number of K-12 students experiencing some type of housing instability or homelessness has increased by 70% in the last decade.

School social workers, counselors and teachers can refer high-school students who are experiencing housing instability to this program. Participants will receive individualized case management and therapeutic services to assist them in completing their education successfully. Short-term transitional housing may be available to provide structure and nurturing until housing stability is possible.

An after-school program will be available to provide a safe-haven for participants and provide access to tutoring, nutritious meals, laundry and showering facilities, a community closet for basic needs, life skills education, substance abuse education, individual and group counseling, recreational activities, and Christian life nurturing.

The program is free to any at-risk student attending local school districts within the areas served.
