Brittany & Bo’s Journey to Adoption

Brittany and Bo met Leo when he was at his most vulnerable—just out of surgery and very weak. As foster parents, they gave him the loving care every child deserves. When reunification wasn't possible, they adopted him and made him their son forever. Over five years, they've fostered twelve children and watched them transform from fragile and hurting to healthy and thriving. Today, they're a family of five, and they want you to know that foster parents aren't superheroes—they're just people who saw a need in their community and couldn't look away. Meet Our New Village Life Coordinator: Stephanie Salinas

Stephanie started her career at PCHAS before spending 14 years as a music teacher. Now she's coming back to her roots at The Foster Care Village in Itasca, and we couldn’t be more excited. Fun fact: Stephanie’s grandmother was the campus cook in the '60s and '70s! Stephanie took swimming lessons in our pool, lived in Itasca, and had friends who grew up on campus. It’s no wonder she feels like she grew up at The Foster Care Village in Itasca, too, and truly believes, "PCHAS is a hidden gem of a place." Read More
