May 5: Basic Volunteer Training | Waxahachie, TX
This introduction to PCHAS programs and basic skills is required for volunteers working with children and families served by PCHAS. Class is 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Lunch and refreshments will be provided. Click here to register.
May 12 : Advanced Volunteer Training | Waxahachie, TX
This training is required for any Level 2 volunteers, who may be responsible for the safety of children without staff present and when away from a residential home. Any volunteer who has completed the application process is eligible to participate. Class is 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Lunch is provided and registration is free. Click here to register
May 22: Super Saturday | Waxahachie, TX
Super Saturday is a day-long recreational program for foster children whose parents are in training classes. Volunteers arrive about 8:15 a.m. to greet the children. The activities are located in a gymnasium and recreation room. The children are divided into two groups: elementary and junior and high school. Infants and toddlers go to a nursery off campus. Snacks and lunch are provided for kids and volunteers. The program ends about 4 p.m. Volunteers must participate in a two-hour training, which may be scheduled with the volunteer coordinator.
