Our Programs: Homes of St. Mark

young girl walking on beach holding foster parents' handsThrough a merger effective January 1, 2010, the Homes of St. Mark, a well-known charitable children's services agency in Houston, became a division of PCHAS.

Founded in 1955, the Homes of St. Mark began much as Presbyterian Children's Homes and Services did - through the benevolent works of a small group of women under the wing of St. Mark's Episcopal Church. Its mission was to provide children and families with alternative services for family formation, preservation and change.

Under the PCHAS continuum of services, the Homes of St. Mark program serves children who have been removed from their parents and placed in foster and foster-to-adopt homes. We also serve children and birth families through our maternity program, in which children are voluntarily placed for adoption, and provide post-adoption services for adult adopted children. The Homes of St. Mark also provides orientation, training and support groups for families seeking to adopt children and post adoption services such as search and reunions.
