FLDS UPDATE FROM ED KNIGHT

Dear Friends of PCHAS:

As you can imagine, this has been an exciting and trying week for us at Presbyterian Children's Homes and Services. We have been inundated with media requests, calls of support and questions about what people can do to assist the children we expect to receive from Eldorado.

We are so grateful for the concern and willingness to help that has been shown to our ministry from our staff, supporters, churches and the general public. I would like to take this opportunity to answer the most common question we hear, which is: What can I do to help?

It will be some time until we have a full sense of the needs of these children. As such:

  • We are not currently accepting any donations of particular items.
  • There are no volunteer opportunities that involve contact with the FLDS children.
  • You can best help by continuing to pray for our staff and ALL of the children and families we serve.

You may not realize this, but we provide care each and every day of the year for about 300 children through our residential and community-based support programs – many of whom have come from a variety of traumatic situations such as abuse, neglect, abandonment and other family crises.

We always have a need for financial support to use where it is most needed. If you feel so led and are able to give financially, you have our assurance that all gifts received will be used wisely to help provide for the needs of all the children and families whom God entrusts to our care.

To make a gift now, visit www.pchas.org/donate or call 1-800-888-1904.

For the Children,

Ed Knight, President
