Group Home Supervisor (San Antonio)

Position Summary:

The Group Home Surpervisor (GHS) will provide organization, training, support and accountability to Home Parents as they provide direct care to youth and their families. The GHS is responsible for implementing the PCHAS Way philosophy of care and structure and will work with the team of Home Parents to provide the highest quality service to youth and their families.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Coordinate and attend all collaborative plan of service meetings and program team meetings
  • Serve as the Family Team Coordinator to ensure that the Plan of Service is fully implemented
  • Work with Home Parents to prepare them for collaborative meetings to maximize their input and feedback in the process
  • Ensure that Home Parents maintain a daily routine that is consistent with the PCHAS Way program.
  • Ensure Home Parents have access to the goals and action steps for each youth/family in their care.
  • Train and equip Home Parents to utilize Love and Logic skills as well as strength-focused language.

Education and Experience :

  • A master's degree in a human service field from an accredited college or university and one year of paid experience working with children and families at risk is preferred.
  • A bachelor's degree in a human services field from an accredited college or university plus three years of experience required.

Skills:

  • Must be organized and self motivated.
  • Must be able to prioritize and be accountable for timelines, to complete projects accurately in timely manner.
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be trained in specific PCHAS Way techniques such as Love and
  • Logic, strength-focused theory, family dynamics and other intervention methods.
  • Must be able to lead, inspire, supervise and evaluate a team of professionals.
  • Must have good understanding of family dynamics and methods for engaging those families in helping relationship.
